I can’t recommend Skene’s Transmission enough. I decided to rebuild my own 4L60E transmission because I felt confident in my mechanical abilities and wanted to challenge myself by learning how to do it myself. Along the way, I ran into a few issues with the valve body that I wasn’t completely confident about. Terry, the owner, took the time to look everything over, helped me identify the correct parts and springs, and even helped me repair the valve body. What impressed me most was Terry’s honesty and willingness to help. Even though I insisted on paying him for his time and knowledge, he wouldn’t accept a dime. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was right and even gave me a couple of parts I needed out of the kindness of his heart. It’s hard to find businesses with this level of integrity anymore. Terry genuinely cared about helping me get my transmission back together the right way instead of trying to make a quick sale. His knowledge, patience, and honesty are second to none. If you’re looking for a transmission shop you can trust, I highly recommend Skene’s Transmission. I’ll definitely be back in the future for any transmission work I need, and I’ll be recommending Terry and his shop to anyone looking for honest, knowledgeable service.

Skene's really goes above and beyond! I told them what I use my truck for, and they went out of their way to ensure I had everything needed to get my transmission not only corrected, but upgraded with the proper heavy-duty billet parts that the original manufacturer left out. He also went as far as getting me an AFM disabler so my truck would stop dropping down to 4-cylinder mode since I pull trailers all the time (this isn't good for the transmission or engine over time) so it was nice he recommended me adding this. I'm very impressed with their knowledge, keeping well within their timeline for getting my truck back, and staying right at budget for the rebuild. This company handles business very well, stands behind their work, and honestly, they couldn't have impressed me any more. Thank you guys again! Also, their family crest has a transmission, so that told me everything I needed to know. Haha. Thanks again!

Great Shop & Staff. Complete rebuild of my 2005 140k miles Silverado 1500 4L65 transmission. Very experienced, organized facilities, inside and out. You don't see signs of overbooking with cars loaded up n the lot. No delays. Runs like a new truck.

My transmission quit about 3 miles from my house. I spoke to a friend of mine that lives in Cartersville, Ga and he recommended I call Skene Transmission. I called Mr. Skene to see if there was anything I could do to salvage this situation… Unfortunately, there was not… He recommended I...
My transmission quit about 3 miles from my house. I spoke to a friend of mine that lives in Cartersville, Ga and he recommended I call Skene Transmission. I called Mr. Skene to see if there was anything I could do to salvage this situation… Unfortunately, there was not… He recommended I bring it in… He also told me about a local wrecker service (Matthew Smith Towing) These guys were super helpful and nice and only charged me 200.00 to haul my truck over 50 miles to Mr. Skene! I drove to meet Mr. Skene later that day… I asked him about certain parts in these GM transmissions that have issues… he right away took me and showed me all the parts that cause these issues and that he puts upgraded parts in all his rebuilds included billet torque converts!! This sold me right away as I have worked on cars, trucks and machines for over 30+yrs. Myself and speaking to him was like talking to a long-lost friend! Very meticulous and detail oriented and very knowledgeable! Between the conversation I had with Mr. Skene and the wrecker service he recommended…. This took a load of stress off me and my family knowing our truck was in the best of hands possible! He even went above and beyond and fixed some other minor issues that were not related to my transmission issue and didn’t charge me for them! This is real customer service!!! He has a life long relationship with me and my family!
